Spencer,
Since football is starting, I guess God has decided he wants #7 from the Chargers as his quarterback. I will miss coaching you on the football field, on the basketball court and on the baseball field. But most of all, I will miss your great smile, your energy, your enthusiasm and your great attitude. I don't remember you ever not being happy, and in that you have given me and all the others who care and love you a great lesson in life. God is your coach now and Heaven is your playing field, but I will never forget you and how you always loved to play the game, no matter what sport it was. Thank you for being such a good friend to Cooper and letting us and our family be a part of your wonderful life. God bless you.

Pat and family. I have worked with Pat for a number of years and this news was absolutely devastating to me and the whole team. I have not stopped thinking about you guys.
Life is short and there are no guarantees so we constant learn that we need to love each person and each moment because - this life is all a gift.
Words can never do justice to such a tragic loss. So Pat, Anna and Ryan, just know that I send my love and thoughts.

Our little Spencer,
We are so proud of you. You are the greatest gift any family could have ever had. Your smile, your attitude, your love for everyone, your love of the Aggies and family. What a special, special little boy. Spencer was sent to us from God to make us better people. He is an angel and always has been. Words cannot describe the heartache that Anna, Ryan and I feel.
Spencer knew that he was loved and never had any fear. All he had was happiness.
My greatest memories of Spencer were the simple ones. Waking up in the morning to hugs and kisses. Running outside to get the newspaper. Eating french toast and dipping slices into the syrup. Playing ball in the backyard, every day. Watching the Aggies play football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis. We loved Spencer's competitiveness, his desire, his focus, the way he walked, talked and behaved.
Anna told me that Spencer worshipped the ground that I walked on but I can tell you that it was I who worshipped the ground that he walked on. What a fabulous boy. No parents could be prouder.
We were fortunate to do things and travel to places that most 6 year olds don't get to do. We are fortunate that we have the support of a wonderful family. The Kirksey's of Lockhart, the Dailey's of College Station, The Squire's of Weymouth, Massachusetts.
We are fortunate to have the love and support of countless friends who Spencer loved and we love dearly.
Spencer was a Shooting Star that will never be forgotten. I will think of Spencer every second, every minute, every hour, every day of every year until I draw my last breath.
Spencer the Angel, as he has always been, will look down upon Anna, Ryan and myself and protect us and help show us the true path to heaven.
We will always love you Spencer and we were always proud of you.
Kisses and noses,
Daddy

Something Granna (Spencer's Great-Grandmother Kirksey) sent to me long ago: "We have all been honored with an issuing of a special invitation. An gathering for the celebration of the greatest & final family reunion of all our lives. I hope you can all come to this gathering, We will see you in Heaven". GOD must have needed Spencer with HIM to have taken him from us so young; so innocent; so full of life; so full of love to give. I am very proud Anna & Patrick have decided to donate Spencer's organs so that he may save dozens of lives. We should all be so brave.
Anna (KK to me), I love you & can't even imagine the pain you have endured. Never let Ryan forget Spencer & the times they had together.

Dear Anna, Patrick and Ryan,
India would seem a million miles away, but your grief has obliterated the distance, I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. I pray that our Heavenly father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost.

I am 40 years old and a father of 2 sons. One as old as Spencer. I wonder, if a similar fate struck me what I would say to myself to soothen my loss, that I would say to Pat.
In this world where men have fashioned so many strange gods to comfort them in their hour of extremity, I know of none I have any real wish to turn to. My hurt in a similar situation would be assuaged only by my reading.
So, Pat, I can give you only this cold comfort from Shakespeare to strengthen you in your grief :
There ’s a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, ’t is not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come: the readiness is all. Since no man has aught of what he leaves, what is ’t to leave betimes?

Little did we know how much living sweet Spencer needed to do in his 6 years. Happily he lived a life full of adventure, enthusiasm, sports, fun, friends, faith and "authentic love" by his sweet parents. In 6 years you alllowed him to live in a world where love was in abundance and "adventure" was around the corner.
(I remember his A&M and Boston Red Sox adventures). What an absolute gift you were to him and what a gift Spencer was to those of us who knew and loved him!
PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU ARE COVERED IN PRAYER AND LOVED BY MANY! MAY YOU FEEL THE COMFORT AND PEACE THAT ONLY GOD CAN PROVIDE!
