Its hard to put into words what Spencer meant to Kim and myself. After what has been easily the most trying week of my life, I think back on the many precious memories that we were blessed with. The joy after I saw little baby Spence for the first time a few hours old, to watching him grow into a happy, polite, energetic, awesome young boy. Its hard to single out any particular story since there are so many, but I will share a few that come to mind.
The backyard battles will always be missed. We had dozens of red sox-rangers wiffle ball matchups in the confines of the 3408 Mason backyard in Plano. Imagine an old has-been (myself) pitching overhanded to Spencer actually trying to get him out with my best curve ball and heaters. Only to take line drives off the body and watching balls sail over the fence and onto the roof. It brings a smile to my face as I think about Spencer rounding the make believe bases with that huge smile on his face rubbing it in as David Ortiz (a.k.a- Spencer) goes deep for the tenth time that day. We had our share of football matchups as well, with Spencer playing all time quarterback for Pat and my heated exchanges in the backyard. He loved life as he quarterbacked our games without a care in the world.
Spencer was so excited about showing Kim and myself the new break dancing/ rap artist routine one weekend. With long shorts, no shirt, and goofy sun glasses he rapped and danced for what had to have been the majority of the day that day. I can picture it now.
We had some pretty good wrestling matches as well. He kept coming back for more. For some reason he never figured out that I outweighed him by 200 lbs. He never quit and was determined to beat me at least once. (I let him win a few times)
We will miss the most of all, just being with Spencer, talking with him, goofing off with him, listening to his explanations, answering his many questions, and seeing his curiosity, excitement, and overall complete love of life.
Every one of us can name Spencer stories that will forever be engrained in our minds and hearts. The joy that he brought to our lives will never be forgotten and his memory will bring many smiles and laughter for years and generations to come. Spencer was a blessing to us and will be etched in Kim and my mind forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pat and Anna, who were and will always be The Perfect Parents. He loved you both so much and I know that he is smiling down upon us now from Heaven, probably with a baseball bat and an aggie jersey waiting to be together again for a new game.
We will always love you and treasure your memory Spencer.

I will never forget Spencer and those gorgeous blue eyes and smile that would light up the room. Although he wasn't in my class, it was fun watching him grow over this year. He was all boy and he was always on the go! My daughter Mary-Kate who was in kindergarten this year remembered all the girls chasing him at recess. Thank you for sharing him with our Boon family this year. He will never be forgotten!

Anna, Patrick, and Ryan:
We wish there was something that we could say that would make this easier on you and your family. We all ask, "Why" in a time like this. "Why Us, Why now, Why Spencer?" There is no answer. I lost my Mom a few years ago and a dear friend told me that the only answer that seemed to make sense was that God just needed another angel. I can tell that Spencer was definitely an angel here on earth and will be a wonderful Aggie Angel in Heaven.
You are all in our prayers!

I just happened to see the picture of your beautiful boy in the paper. I knew Patrick in college and always knew he would someday be a great dad. Anna and family,
We just heard of your terrible loss, and our hearts are breaking for you. When Abbie & Spencer were in the 3's class at CRCDS, he was always such a happy, vibrant little boy. And you were always such an amazing Mom.
I can't begin to imagine what you're going through. We lost my mother suddenly last month, and one scripture that has given me peace has been 2 Corinthians 12:8. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Another is Isaiah 40:31. "Those that hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint."
We will be praying that God will bring you an endless well of love and support and strength in the coming weeks and months. And that he will bless you with wonderful "Spencer stories" from friends and family.
Grace and Peace,

A coworker of mine, Rod, just shared Spencer's story with me. My wife and I lost our two-year old son, Jonathan, back in 1991. While I didn't know Spencer, I do know that he was very loved and very fortunate to be a part of your family. That is why we're given the gift of children and the opportunity to have them in our lives. This website and the entries below are proof of the huge amount of love he knew in his short time here on earth. He knows you're hurting, but you need to know that he is not. Just know that he is safe and with Jesus in Heaven. That knowledge is what has allowed my wife and me to continue our journey even with such a huge part of us missing. I would love to talk to you as someone who's been where you are right now. I can't say that I know your pain, but I can say I know the pain you're going through right now. Please let Rod know if you're interested. God bless you and your family.

Dear Squire Family,
I'm expressing my deepest sympathy for this terrible loss of our family. I myself have never dealt with this kind of pain, no one in my family has ever passed away and I am very bewildered that it was my 6 year old cousin. Regardless, I loved Spencer so much and I considered him to be a great little cousin. I know that it must be very hard to come to grips with everything right now and I'm hoping you are being strong. I know you all are very strong people and can make it through this difficult time. I remember Spencer's drive for living and loving. Also, the amazing energy that came with him. I'll never forget that. Because I believe that energy, whatever kind of energy it is, can never be destroyed- i feel that Spencer's energy will live on. I love you all very much. Stay Strong! xoxo

The Outdoor Furniture
Pat wanted a place to watch his boys play. The very thought of the placement of the furniture was so very important in his mind for his kids. The furniture had to be right and safe for his boys. We need to have great seating but the walk way can never go away for his boys needed the path to play. Pat is such the planner
and had his boys were in his thoughts at all times. That outdoor furniture is now in the right place but we are missing one great little boy now. Spencer has a better seat with more room to play and will be with Jesus and blessed. I have had so many great clients in my career but people like Pat and Anna do not fall from trees they are thrown from God. Spencer was a joy to be around and loved his brother and parents so very much. Our missing Spencer is sad for us but what a blessing God is having right now. Few Dads will ever know the relationship a father and son had the way Pat and
Spencer had with each other. If we can bottle up the love, respect, kindness and blessings they held by each other we would make billions. Pats love for his boys and respect for his wife Anna was a joy for me to be a part of. God Bless our Spencer and his brother Ryan.
